FREE Quad Rock Training Plans
Check out my free training plans for the Quad Rock 50 and Quad Rock 25 trail races.

Who is Elijah?
I’ve been a lifelong student of endurance training. My journey began with racing mountain bikes in my teens, followed by years of tackling long mountain adventures during and after getting my PhD in physics. At 42 I became a passionate student of trail ultramarathons.
In my first year of ultrarunning, 2016, I earned top-10 finishes in a variety of events, including a trail 50-miler, a rugged 100K, a trail half marathon, and a trail marathon. Along the way, I set a couple of masters course records. While the races themselves were thrilling, it was the community and adventures that truly hooked me.
I became obsessed with the intricacies of ultrarunning training and how it differed from traditional running training. This led me to deepen my understanding of training for all distances, across all terrains. At 44, I won my first race outright, the Arches Ultra 50K. My journey continued with significant achievements, including finishing Western States in 23 hours, placing third at Mogollon Monster 100, completing Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (6th American), and winning the High Five 100 with a course record.
My passion for the sport and its supportive community transformed into a desire to help others achieve their goals. I decided to pursue coaching, becoming both a certified running and ultrarunning coach, with a specialization in injury prevention. I leverage my decades of expertise in data analysis as a physicist in combination with my critical analysis of exercise science research literature to guide athletes toward achieving their goals with precision and care.
Why Ridgeline Rhythm?
We all find different motivations for running, and my motivation stems from playing in the mountains. Ridgelines fill my heart with joy, and I will find a rhythm and dance along the ridge. I am motivated to train hard to play in the mountains. At Ridgeline Rhythm Coaching we will are dedicated to helping you find joy in training to achieve your goals, however big or small.
Working with Elijah I had my fastest year yet and accomplished race and training performances I never thought possible. On top of that, this is the first training season in 9 years that I haven’t needed to see a physical therapist for injuries. Oh, and the training was fun since coach was able to turn my standard fun runs into workouts. On top of this, he was able to constantly adapt and tune my workouts and training plan to accommodate a fairly hectic work and family schedule. I’m ‘in it for the long run’.

I wanted to do Quad Rock 50 as my first ultra but knew I needed a coach. Elijah came highly recommended. What I most loved about Elijah’s coaching is that he treated me (an “I-made-the-Quad-Rock-50-cut-off-by-three-minutes” athlete) with the same care and attention that one would pay to a podium finisher. He’s cautious and careful with his approach to injury prevention. His coaching philosophy embraces the culture and inclusiveness of trail running. I love that he’s a dad and has perceptive. He’s incredibly knowledgable, humble (despite being a great athlete), a physicist (!!!!), and he got me to the finish line. I loved having Coach Elijah with me on my first ultra journey! I can’t wait for the next one!
